Family Calendar
The calendar shows everything happening in the next two weeks —
school, sport, appointments, and family events.
Anyone can add a new event using the + Add event button.
Only parents can edit or delete events that are already there.
📚
Homework
Keep track of every assignment that needs to be done, sorted by due date so nothing gets forgotten.
Anyone can add homework. Tick the checkbox when you’ve finished — it moves to the Completed list!
Red = due today ·
Orange = due very soon
✅
Chore Pay
Sofia and Maya each start every week with $100.
If chores aren’t done or a rule is broken, parents can subtract money — this is called an infraction.
If you do something great, parents can add a bonus on top!
The week always resets on Sunday at midnight. History of past weeks is saved in the History tab.
🏦
Your Money — The 3-Part Split
At the end of the week, your chore money is divided into 3 parts.
This isn’t just about spending — it’s about learning to manage money wisely, the way grown-ups do.
🔒
Long-term savings
Put away for big future goals — like a car, a trip, or something really special. You don’t touch this for a long time. It grows slowly and becomes something amazing.
💷
Short-term savings
Saving up for something you want in the next few months. You choose what to save for — a game, a book, a gift for someone you love.
🎉
Pocket money
This part is yours to spend right now, however you like! A treat, a snack, a small toy — your choice, no questions asked.
🌅
Morning Digest
Every morning at 7am, a summary is automatically sent to the family Telegram group showing:
• Today’s events
• Homework due soon
• This week’s chore pay balances
It’s like a family morning briefing so everyone starts the day knowing what’s on.
💬
Messages
The Messages page lets everyone in the family send messages to the family Telegram group — even Sofia and Maya who don’t have phones yet!
Sending from the Hub: Type your message and tap Send. It arrives in the Telegram group straight away with your name, so Mum and Dad see it on their phones instantly.
Seeing replies: Replies sent from Telegram phones appear here automatically. The page refreshes every 30 seconds, or tap Refresh to check right now. Messages stay in the feed for the last 50 conversations.
Example: Sofia types “Can someone pick me up from school at 4pm?” → Mum sees it on her phone and replies “On my way!” → Sofia sees the reply here.
📱
Telegram Setup — For Parents
To receive Hub messages on your phone and have replies show up here, you need Telegram set up correctly. This is a one-time setup.
Step 1 — Install Telegram
Download the free Telegram app on your phone (iPhone or Android). Create an account with your phone number.
Step 2 — Create the family group
In Telegram, create a new group (e.g. “Jackson Family Hub”) and add all parents. This is where Hub messages and the morning digest appear.
Step 3 — Add the bot to the group
Search for your bot by its username (e.g. @jacksonhub_bot) and add it to the group as a member.
Step 4 — Turn off bot privacy mode
Open Telegram → message @BotFather → type /mybots → select your bot → Bot Settings → Group Privacy → tap Turn off.
This allows the bot to read messages in the group so replies from phones appear in the Hub.
Step 5 — Done!
From now on, everything sent from the Hub appears in Telegram, and everything replied in Telegram appears in the Hub. The morning digest also arrives in this group every day at 7am.
